Studies have shown that over 50% of children have malnutrition, and 38% of them are missed by caregivers and healthcare providers.

SQF, in partnership with Smile Train, has established a malnutrition rehabilitation unit at Dodoma Region Referral Hospital in Dodoma, Tanzania. This unit receives all malnourished children with clefts and keeps them under undernutrition rehabilitation until they meet the surgical criteria requirement. After the surgery, they decided to go home.
