Prof. Benjamin W. Wachira is a distinguished Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine with a deep commitment to improving emergency care in Kenya. He currently serves as the Emergency Medicine Program Director at the Aga Khan University in Nairobi, where he trains future emergency care providers and plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of emergency medicine in Kenya. Dr Wachira's extensive experience and expertise have made him a valuable member of the National Emergency Medical Care Steering Committee in the Ministry of Health. In this capacity, he contributes to developing policies and oversees the implementation of emergency medical care across Kenya. He is passionate about advocacy for emergency care and has been instrumental in developing policies that have improved emergency care services in Kenya. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Emergency Medicine Kenya Foundation, Dr Wachira has devoted his time and resources to support emergency healthcare providers across Kenya. The organization is focused on capacity building, knowledge development, advocacy, and research to strengthen the emergency healthcare system in Kenya and save lives. Through his leadership and vision, Dr Wachira has helped create an organization that has significantly impacted the delivery of emergency care in Kenya. Dr Wachira is a past president of the African Federation for Emergency Medicine, where he has worked tirelessly to advance emergency care throughout the African continent. He is a prolific writer and has published widely on emergency care, and his research has led to significant improvements in emergency care in Kenya. Dr Benjamin W. Wachira's contributions to the field of emergency medicine have earned him tremendous respect and admiration in Kenya and internationally.
