Dr. Chidiebere Victor Ugwu, MD, FAAP, is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician currently in his final year as a Fellow at Emory School of Medicine and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. His medical journey commenced at the University of Benin in Nigeria, where he earned his MBBS degree in 2012. Dr. Ugwu's commitment to excellence is evident in his academic achievements, including an anticipated Certification of Distinction in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety from Emory University in June 2024. After completing his Pediatric Residency at Woodhull Medical Center/New York University and currently enrolled in a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Emory, Dr. Ugwu is dedicated to researching the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines within pediatric emergency medicine departments across the United States. Throughout his career, Dr. Ugwu has demonstrated leadership in administrative and clinical roles, serving as a Pediatric Hospitalist in various New York medical centers. He holds licensure from the American Board of Pediatrics and is licensed to practice in both New York and Georgia. Beyond clinical settings, Dr. Ugwu is actively involved in committees at national, regional, and institutional levels, spearheading quality improvement initiatives such as enhancing pediatric sepsis outcomes. Engaging in research and academic activities, he has presented abstracts at national and international conferences, reflecting his commitment to advancing knowledge in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His contribution as a published author showcases his dedication to improving medical knowledge and patient care.
